歌剧《江姐》由闫肃根据著名作家罗广斌、杨益言的小说《红岩》改编，羊鸣、姜春阳、金砂作曲。自1964年首演后在全国广为流传，1965年上海歌剧院首演后，亦成为剧院每年“七•一”上演的保留剧目。半个多世纪的岁月中，上海歌剧院已在先后六代“江姐”的传承中完成了近600场《江姐》的演出，在剧场、校园、社区，以大大小小各种版本的形式，与广大忠实的观众们结下情缘。

Opera Jiangjie is adapted by Yan Su from Luo Guangbin and Yang Yiyan’s novel Hongyan. Since its premiere in 1964, the play has been widely circulated throughout the country. After its premiere at the Shanghai Opera House in 1965, it has become the theatre’s reserved repertoire for the annual July 1st Party’s Day. For more than half a century, Shanghai Opera House has completed nearly 600 performances of Jiang Jie in the succession of six generations of ‘Sister Jiang’, and has formed a bond with its loyal audience in theatres, campuses and communities in various versions of the play.
