大型交响合唱《黄河大合唱》以黄河为背景，热情歌颂中华民族源远流长的光荣历史和中国人民坚强英勇的不屈精神。该曲一经问世便迅速传遍中华大地，更在海外享有盛誉。作为上海歌剧院的保留剧目之一，《黄河大合唱》见证了剧院与众多优秀指挥家、艺术家的愉快合作，伴随剧院去到西北、中原，甚至出访欧洲，透过振聋发聩的乐声，将中华民族自强不息的精神力量感染到每一位观众。

The Yellow River Cantata eulogizes the rich and profound history of the great Chinese nation and also the brave and heroic spirit of Chinese people by setting its background on the Yellow River. Once released, this symphonic choral piece has gained wide popularity both at home and abroad. The Yellow River Cantata, well reserved as the repertoire of Shanghai Opera House, has been a witness of the pleasant co-operations between Shanghai Opera House and a great deal of outstanding conductors and artists. With its tours in Northwest China, Central China and even Europe, The Yellow River Cantata has encouraged the audiences with the unremitting and continuous efforts of the Chinese nation.
